The LOAK2-TX04 is a model based on the LOAK2-TX01 and TX02, featuring brass components for both the front housing and the backplate (part of the rear housing). The sound has been specially tuned to match the characteristics of brass. Due to the high number of inquiries and requests received during previous sales of completed units, we have decided to add this model to our product lineup. Housing)
Front : Brass.
Body : Titanium (3D printing).
Rear : Brass.
The housing is made with the same 3D-printed titanium body as the other LOAK2-TX series models, while the front and backplate sections of the rear housing are crafted from CNC-machined brass. The backplate has a semi-matte finish.
The characteristics of sound and comparison with other models)
The TX04 is based on the TX01 and TX02 but features a deeper, more bass-heavy sound. While the driver tuning is almost identical to the TX01, the thicker sound produced by the brass results in a sound profile closer to the TX02. Unlike the solid and sharp sound of the TX01, the TX04 offers a thicker, more analog-like tone similar to the TX02, with slightly more bass than either model.
The overall balance leans towards the lower frequencies, making the highs somewhat subdued. However, the rounded edges and restrained peaks in the high frequencies result in a sound that, while powerful, remains easy to listen to.
A notable difference from the TX01 and TX02 is that the sound contours and vocals are less pronounced. While the TX01 and TX02 offer rich reverberation with relatively defined sound contours and forward-facing vocals, the TX04 delivers a more cohesive sound, as if all the elements are blended together into a single, unified tone.
In this sense, the TX04 may be better suited for rhythm-driven music rather than vocal-centric tracks. With its strong, weighty bass—perfect for instruments like bass drums and basses—it pairs well with slower, atmospheric tracks rather than fast-paced ones.
Comparison with LOAK2-TX01)
The TX01 has a thinner and tighter sound profile compared to the TX04. It also offers a greater sense of spatial width. On the other hand, the TX04 delivers richer bass. While the TX01 is sharper, with more clarity and openness, the TX04 excels in delivering thicker, warmer tones, making it better suited for relaxed and laid-back soundscapes.
Comparison with LOAK2-TX02)
TX04 and TX02 are very similar, but TX04 has a slightly stronger bass and a milder sound. On the other hand, TX02 is characterised by a higher range and a brighter tone. TX04 is like a bass-enhanced version of TX02, with a sound balance that leans towards the bass.
Caution)
Models made with brass require special care. The brass nozzle is prone to accumulating moisture from the ears during use, which can lead to rust if not properly maintained. Be sure to remove the ear tips when the earphones are not in use.
Additionally, to enhance the bass response, the air pressure release within the front housing has been reduced. Pressing the earphones too firmly into the ears during use can place excessive pressure on the diaphragm, potentially causing damage. When putting on the earphones, gently rotate them into place rather than pressing them directly against your ears.
If you choose to use ear tips other than the ones provided, avoid tips with a higher seal strength than the included ones, as they may cause damage.
The TX04 is a model with a unique character both in terms of sound and handling. Brass produces a sound that cannot be replicated by titanium or stainless steel, and its distinctive resonance and atmospheric tone have an intriguing charm. In particular, the thick, rich bass and warm timbre are standout features of this model.
