This is a remade unit of the LOAK-PROTOTYPE01, originally used as a demo model. It has been disassembled, cleaned, and rebuilt.
The LOAK-PROTOTYPE01 is the predecessor and design basis of the current flagship model, the LOAK2-TX01. The driver and tuning are almost identical to the TX01, but the body is made with a different type of 3D printing. This housing is slightly harder (less flexible) than standard titanium.
While the tuning is the same as the current TX01, the slight difference in the housing gives the PROTOTYPE01 a more planar, spacious feel. The TX01 and PROTOTYPE01, especially when paired with Snakewood backplates like this one, are known for their refined, sharp-edged sound with beautifully clear and airy tones.
Although the sound is almost the same as the current top model, the price is about half of the regular retail price since this is a remade piece. Prototype models rarely come back through trade-in, so if you’ve been interested in the LOAK2-TX01, this could be a great opportunity. Only one unit available.
