This is a remade version of a pre-owned LOAK-PROTOTYPE02 that was traded in. It was fully disassembled, and the wood parts were newly carved and rebuilt. Only the front housing, body, and cable have been reused.
This earphone served as the foundation for the current flagship model, LOAK2-TX02. While the driver and most of the tuning are nearly identical to the TX02, the body material differs—this prototype uses a 3D-printed housing that is slightly harder (less flexible) than standard titanium.
The sound is almost the same as the TX02, but the PROTOTYPE02 has a slightly cleaner and sharper tone with a bit more spaciousness. However, compared to the 01 model, the 02 model has a thicker, more powerful, and impactful sound.
The back plate wood is blue-stabilized wood with a high amount of lighter-colored resin. This material is made by infusing resin into burl wood and hardening it, resulting in a very dense and solid material.
Although the sound is nearly the same as the top-tier model, the price is about half of the original since this is a remade item. Prototype units rarely become available, even through trade-ins, so if you’ve been interested in the LOAK2-TX02, this is a great opportunity. Only one unit is available.
