This is an open-type MIROAK-II that isn’t part of the regular lineup. Unlike the standard MIROAK-II, this model has stainless steel components attached to the wooden back plate, which increases the durability of the resin body. Following the previous releases with other woods in the past couple of weeks, this one is crafted with Chucket biga wood, which is sometimes used for violin bows.
While it carries the MIROAK-II model name, the sound is reminiscent of the LOAK2-TX03 or the former LOAK-T(OP). It has a more refined, streamlined, and clear sound compared to the standard MIROAK-II. The use of Chucket biga for the back plate may contribute to a lighter tonal quality. Compared to last week’s Honduran rosewood model, this one has a slightly rounder edge and a bit more bass. Only one unit has been made.
