This is the LOAK2-TX01 made with Desert Ironwood. Desert Ironwood is bog wood from the desert, known for being extremely hard and dry. Among the woods handled by 634EARS, it ranks as one of the hardest. Wood with beautiful grain patterns is rare, and this particular piece has distinct black grain.
The TX01 made with this wood has a thin, tight sound overall, but it doesn’t feel as solid as Snakewood. It has clear contours and a bright tone, which pairs well with the characteristics of the TX01.
The TX01 has a sharper, tighter sound compared to the TX02 or TX03, so the choice of wood greatly affects whether you want to soften this sharpness or emphasize it. If you’re looking for a sharp, tight sound, Snakewood or Desert Ironwood are highly recommended for the TX01.
