This LOAK2-TX02 features Amboyna Burl wood. Burl wood is known for having significant variations in hardness and density between individual pieces, and this particular Amboyna Burl is relatively hard.
The sound is somewhat similar to that of the same model made with mahogany or Japanese black persimmon, but with slightly more defined edges. The warm and thick sound characteristic of the TX02 is well expressed in this model.
In a good way, this TX02 might represent the quintessential 634EARS sound. It has a warm tone, rich resonance, and an analog-like atmosphere created by these qualities. While it shares similarities with the TX01, the TX02 has a lower sound profile with a softer and thicker tone. Recently, as DAPs and DAC/AMPs have become increasingly high-resolution and precise, this kind of earphone with a warm, analog sound seems to shine even more.
