This is the LOAK2-TX03, made with Granadillo wood. The right side has a slight touch of the light-colored sapwood at the edge, making it easy to distinguish the left and right sides, which is quite nice. In terms of hardness and density, Granadillo ranks mid-range among the woods handled by 634EARS, but this particular Granadillo seems relatively dry and on the harder side.
The TX03 is known for its delicate, slender sound, but pairing it with this Granadillo adds a bit more body to each note. The wood also introduces a warm tone. The density of this Granadillo isn’t overly intense in a way that allows for a cohesive, unified sound, rather than one that emphasizes high-resolution separation of each individual note. It produces a sound that’s very analog-like. I think this gentle sound profile suits the TX03 beautifully.
