This is the LOAK2-TX03 with a backplate made from Itaya maple. This particular Itaya maple is a rare spalted variety, featuring irregular black patterns. In terms of hardness and density, it is softer and lighter than the standard rosewoods handled by 634EARS. Spalted Itaya maple from Hokkaido is actually quite rare, and at this point, it’s nearly impossible to source more—making it a highly valuable wood.
Itaya maple pairs well with the TX03, which is characterized by its more delicate sound compared to TX01 and TX02. The sound contours are fine, and the moderate lightness and softness of the tone create a pleasant listening experience.
