LOAK2-TX03 Painted maple(Itaya-maple, Itaya-Kaede)

This is the LOAK2-TX03, made using Itaya Maple wood(Painted maple). The customer who placed the order is from Hokkaido, Japan, and chose wood from Hokkaido.
It was my first time working with this wood, and although it’s relatively lightweight, it turned out to be harder than expected, possibly due to its advanced drying process. The density is fairly high, and the surface is very smooth. There are slight bird’s eye-like patterns in the grain.
The TX03 produces a gentle and delicate sound, and the Itaya Maple faithfully brings out these characteristics while also adding a taut, glossy tone. Among the woods handled by 634EARS, this one is relatively soft, but the edges are not overly rounded and remain moderately sharp, giving off a slightly spicy impression.
The sound has a lightness to it, making it great for expressing snappy, bouncing tones like those from a snare drum. It gives the impression that the sound is released quickly yet expands robustly, with excellent separation.
