Sonokeling is a type of hardwood from the legume family, similar to rosewood. It\u2019s a hard wood, and this particular piece is very dry with a slightly greenish tint, which is quite rare. In terms of hardness and density, it feels similar to Ching-chan among the woods handled by 634EARS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When compared to the 634EARS hardness-density chart, Sonokeling falls into the category of woods where &#8220;hardness &gt; density.&#8221; There aren&#8217;t many woods like this. The sound is clear and slightly lean, with a well-defined outline. Overall, the sound is tight with a moderate amount of solidity. Although this was the first time using this wood, I was very impressed with it.
