This wood is characterized by its brown and black striped pattern. It is a dense, heavy wood. Due to its high oil content, there is variation between pieces\u2014dry Bocote tends to be harder, while oilier pieces are softer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to its density and the flexibility of the wood, the bass is incredibly rich. The mid-to-high range isn&#8217;t too flashy, and the overall tone is quite calm. It&#8217;s very similar to MIROAK-II made with Cocobolo, but Bocote gives a more rounded edge compared to Cocobolo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When compared to the African Padauk featured in the previous post, the difference is clear. Bocote has a lower tonal focus, offering a more grounded and mellow sound, while African Padauk has a higher focus, producing a bright and airy tone.
