This LOAK2-TS(OP) features Lignum Vitae wood, which is the heaviest wood in the world. The wood has a greenish-brown hue, and when exposed to sunlight, its color deepens, becoming more vibrant green. It’s a highly oily wood, similar to Palo Santo but even denser.

LOAK2-TS(OP) is the model that most closely inherits the sound of the old LOAK-T. Among the LOAK2 series, it has the lightest bass and a slightly biased towards the high frequencies. However, with the Lignum Vitae used in LOAK2-TS(OP), the bass feels noticeably fuller, almost heavier. It gives the impression of a lower center of gravity, resulting in a more balanced overall sound compared to the originally high-frequency-oriented sound of this model. In exchange, however, the lightness and clarity of the high frequencies are diminished. Nevertheless, I believe the intention behind the customer’s choice of this wood is clearly evident.
“When the intention behind “what kind of sound they want” is clear, even wood that I wouldn’t typically recommend can turn out to be the best choice for that individual. It seems like a fantastic decision.
